Our Experience Like a Local – 1-Day Lapland Adventure Package brings together the best of Ranua’s winter nature, local traditions, and cozy Arctic atmosphere in a perfectly timed day-and-evening program.

Throughout the adventure, we provide:

• Local transfers between activities when needed

• Sausage, marshmallows, chocolate, and warm drinks by the campfire

Day Program – Ice Fishing & Snowmobile Adventure (10:00 – 14:00)

Start your day with a thrilling snowmobile ride through snowy forests and across a frozen lake as you make your way to a scenic ice fishing spot. Under the guidance of a professional instructor, you’ll enjoy a safe and fun ride — perfect for both first-timers and more experienced drivers.
Children under 15 travel safely in a sled pulled by the guide.

Once you arrive, step onto the ice and try a true Finnish classic: ice fishing. Your guide will help you get set up, show you how to drill your own hole, and share local tips as you settle into the peaceful silence of the winter wilderness, waiting for a bite. If you catch fish, it can be grilled fresh by the fire for an authentic Lapland taste

After your fishing moment by the frozen lake, hop back on the snowmobiles and ride back through the sparkling winter landscapes, completing the adventure with more scenic driving time before returning.

Included (Day program):

• Instruction on snowmobile operation

• Snowmobile safari

• Ice fishing equipment

• Grilling the catch by the lake (if fish are caught)

Evening Program – Aurora Activity Park & Reindeer Encounters (19:00 – 22:00)

Return in the evening for a truly atmospheric winter experience. Travel by snowmobile-pulled sleigh through a snowy forest, wrapped in soft reindeer hides, to reach Lupland’s Aurora Activity Park by a serene private forest lake.

Once there, enjoy a mix of fun, tradition, and relaxation:

• Skating, kicksledding, downhill sledding & snowshoeing

• Reindeer feeding and meeting the reindeer up close

• Try e-mountain bikes on snowy trails

• Relax in a traditional sauna and dare the refreshing ice bath

• End the evening sharing stories with your guide inside a cozy Lappish hut

Included (evening program):

• Transportation by snowmobile-pulled sleigh

• Reindeer feeding & reindeer encounters (no reindeer sleigh ride)

• Skating, kicksledding, sledding & snowshoeing

• E-mountain bikes

• Sauna & ice bath

Important to know

• Swimsuit is not included

• Snowmobile drivers must be at least 18 years old and have a valid B-class driver’s license.

• Children under 15 years old ride in a sled pulled by the guide.

• Ice fishing is nature-based, so the catch cannot be guaranteed.

• Reindeer are living animals and their behaviour can vary from day to day. We always work on the animals’ terms, and the guide may adjust the flow of the visit to keep both guests and animals comfortable and safe.

• Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and can’t be guaranteed.

• We operate under a zero-tolerance policy regarding alcohol when driving a snowmobile.
  Snowmobile rides will be cancelled if the driver is under the influence of alcohol, with no refund of payments made.
  In case of a dispute, the driver’s condition will be verified using a breathalyzer test.

Pickup can be arranged from Ranua Resort Arctic Igloos reception or Ranua Resort Safari House. Please contact us well in advance if you need pickup.
