Day 1 – Northern Lights Experience at 20.00 – 23.00

Guided Aurora Adventure in the Heart of Lapland

Come and experience the Northern Lights and savor the beauty of nature guided by a local expert! Ranua's Northern Lights excursion offers an unforgettable evening that will leave you with warm memories.

From our secluded viewing spot, you’ll have a clear view of the northern sky — a perfect backdrop of forest and frozen lakes. Between gazing at the glowing auroras, we’ll gather around a cozy campfire to enjoy grilled sausages and hot drinks.

While the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon and never guaranteed, the peaceful atmosphere, local stories, and shimmering stars always create a truly magical Lapland moment.

Day 2 – Nighttime Snowmobile Safari at 20.00 – 22.00

Ride Through the Arctic Wilderness Under the Stars

Feel the thrill of snowmobiling beneath the Arctic night sky! This two-hour guided safari lets you learn the basics of snowmobiling and experience the excitement of riding across snowy trails and frozen lakes.

The highlight of the evening is gliding through the moonlit landscape, where snow sparkles under your headlights and the silence of Lapland surrounds you. Whether you’re a first-timer or experienced rider, this safari offers a perfect mix of adrenaline and serenity.

Day 3 – Aurora Activity Park & Reindeer Safari at 19.00 – 22.00

A Day of Lappish Traditions and Arctic Fun

Step into a winter wonderland and travel by snowmobile-pulled sleigh through a snowy forest wrapped in soft reindeer hides. Your destination: Lupland’s Aurora Activity Park, nestled by a serene forest lake.

Here, adventure and relaxation meet — from skating, kicksledding, and snowshoeing to feeding friendly reindeer and trying e-mountain bikes on snowy trails. Warm up by the campfire with sausages, marshmallows, chocolate, and hot drinks, or unwind in a traditional sauna before a refreshing dip in the ice bath.

You’ll also visit a nearby wilderness camp, where you’ll meet the reindeer up close and enjoy a 1 km reindeer sleigh ride through the forest. End the day sharing stories with your guide inside a cozy Lappish hut.

Our excursions have a minimum of 2 participants, but you can also book the excursion individually upon your request. Feel free to get in touch and inquire about availability and pricing. The starting point for the excursions is Arctic Guesthouse & Igloos (address: Pappilantie 1, 97700 Ranua). Please remember to arrive on time, at least 15 minutes before the excursion's scheduled start time. If you require transportation, we can pick you up from the Ranua Resort Arctic igloos reception or Ranua Resort Safari House. Kindly get in touch well in advance if you need pickup service.

Insurance plans

Self-liability in case of snowmobile damage is 980€/driver/incident. By paying a 50€ "waiver," the maximum self-liability amount reduces to 150 euros. The waiver must be purchased before the safari begins.

Qualifications

Snowmobile drivers must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid B-class driver's license. Children under 15 years old ride in a sled pulled by the guide.
